His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni launched a fundraising drive for the re-development of the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo. The shrine is a center of convergence for thousands of devout Christians from across the world that makes the annual pilgrimage to celebrate the lives of the martyrs.
During the event, Airtel Uganda committed to the noble cause through the use of its Airtel Money platform where its millions of subscribers can take the opportunity to easily and conveniently contribute to shrines refurbishment.
To contribute to the restoration of the Namugongo Shrines, subscribers to the Airtel network can;

Airtel Uganda has in the past, used its Airtel Money platform to support other charitable causes including, the Kabaka Birthday Run and a partnership with the Kingdom of Buganda to launch a Mobile Money fundraising platform where the kingdom’s subjects and well-wishers contribute funds to support Kabaka’s various development initiatives.
